My Updates
Why I signed up.
Tuesday 17th Feb
This May, along with some other riders we’ll be taking on an incredible three-day cycling challenge with one goal in mind — helping country kids who need medical treatment away from home.
For families living in rural and regional areas, accessing specialist healthcare often means travelling long distances, spending weeks away from home, and facing enormous emotional and financial pressure. When a child becomes seriously unwell, the last thing a family should have to worry about is where they will stay, how they will afford the trip, or being separated from their support networks.
That’s why we’re riding.
Why We Ride
This ride isn’t just about the kilometres we’ll cover — it’s about the kids and families who face these challenges every day. It’s about ensuring country children can get the care they need, without their families being burdened by the added hardship of being far from home.
The funds raised through Riding for Country Kids go directly toward supporting families who are doing it tough while their child receives treatment away from home. It helps provide accommodation, support services, and a sense of comfort during what is often the hardest time of their lives.
Three Days. One Purpose.
Setting off on Sunday 17th May, the ride will cover over 380km through NSW’s scenic far west regions. Over three days, we’ll push ourselves physically and mentally, knowing that every pedal stroke is helping make a real difference.
Here’s what the journey looks like:
Day One
Starting in Parkes, riding through Molong and Manildra, before returning to Parkes
(Approx. 150km)
Day Two
Starting in Parkes and riding to Trundle, before heading to Forbes
(Approx. 130km)
Day Three
Starting in Forbes, heading to Eugowra and finishing back in Forbes
(Approx. 120km)
Riding for Everyone
There are distance variations for each peloton to suit rider skill and endurance. Whether you’re an experienced rider or taking on a personal challenge, there’s an option to be part of this meaningful event.

How You Can Help
If you’d like to support this mission, you can help by donating, sharing our story, or cheering us on along the way. Every contribution, big or small, helps ensure that country kids can access life-saving treatment with the support they deserve.
Together, we can make a difference — one ride, one family, one child at a time.
Let’s ride for country kids.
I would like to personally thank New Holland for getting me on board to participate in making a difference for Country Kids.
