I’m going the distance to change the lives of country kids!
Imagine knowing your child desperately needed health services to help them develop, learn or thrive like other children, but not being able to access those services because of where you live? It's an issue that most City dwellers never have to think about.
Every Australian child deserves the right to access quality health services, but sadly country children face disadvantage of distance and a lack of available services. Children in regional Australia are waiting years to see speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and paediatricians or being told there are no services at all. A positive trajectory in life can be at risk if children can't access the right care at the right time.
On Thursday 15 May I’ll be setting off from Bourke to cycle over 370km to Narromine to raise vital funds for Royal Far West, whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of country children.
Why? I’m riding to help raise $750,000 for country kids who are struggling with developmental and mental health needs. These funds will get them access to the critical assessments, services and support they need to thrive.
Help me achieve this by making a donation via this page AND by helping to spread the word by sharing my page. Every dollar adds up to make a difference for country kids, by connecting them to the vital healthcare services they urgently need. And it will make my rash decision to register for this ride, and the really sore backside I am going to have, worthwhile.
